What makes me feel most like me?

'Perhaps the person you're looking for isn't someone you've yet to become, but someone you've simply forgotten to spend time with'
I saw this quote recently and I couldn't stop thinking about it.
It is so easy to get wrapped up in the pace of life and going through the motions of our everyday routines that for me personally, there have been many times when I have felt stuck or unsure of what feels like me.
We need to practice coming back to ourselves a little more often.
Rather than finding yourself as a destination, we could challenge the idea that we are not lost at all. Sometimes we're simply buried beneath responsibilities, expectations, grief, growth, or survival and sometimes we become known by our responsibilities. For many of us, those answers become blurred over time.
We rarely stop to ask whether we are moving closer to ourselves and there are versions of ourselves that only existed because of the season we were in.
Another interesting point is that we assume we're supposed to stay the same person forever, but maybe we're not.
There is a difference between not recognising yourself anymore and changing. They're not always the same thing.
Younger you may not even recognise the person you are today. However, that does not mean it's a bad thing.
Sometimes you've evolved and sometimes you've simply become exhausted and have forgotten what lights you up.
The difficult part is knowing which is true.
Why is the question 'who am I?' so difficult to answer?
I think because most of us answer with facts and not feelings. Its about what you value, what brings you joy, makes you feel alive, you believe, you notice, and what remains when all the labels are stripped away.
Start to think about what makes you, you. What makes you FEEL most like you?
